WestLB hires two new directors for its Hong Kong office

Daniel Camacho and Lynette Yeo will lead the bankÆs leveraged lending team in Asia.
WestLB has appointed Daniel Camacho and Lynette Yeo as directors of corporates and capital markets global origination, in a move that will help to expand the bankÆs leveraged lending business in Asia.

Before joining WestLB, Camacho was vice president of GE CapitalÆs global media and communications group, while Yeo was a director of BNP Paribas.

Based in Hong Kong, Camacho and Yeo will be responsible for originating, structuring, and executing structured and leveraged loans in Asian markets including Japan. They will report to Charles Regan, the bankÆs head of originations in Hong Kong.

ôThe addition of Daniel and Lynette will further enhance WestLBÆs leveraged lending capabilities in Asia. This is an area that is continuing to grow throughout the region, and we are dedicated to strengthening and expanding WestLBÆs expertise and services,ö says Regan.

As a veteran banker, Camacho has been originating, structuring and executing debt transactions in Asia for more than 10 years. Prior to his employment in GE CapitalÆs global media and communications group, he also worked for ABN AMRO, covering leveraged finance as well as structured telecom and media.

At BNP Paribas, Yeo was responsible for the origination and execution of high-yield private placement transactions. Before that, she spent over seven years with JPMorgan Chase, where she mainly focused on leveraged finance and acquisition-related transactions. She has also worked with Allen & Gledhill Advocates and Solicitors in Singapore.

She joined WestLB early this year before taking up her new role this week.

During a visit to Hong Kong last year, the bankÆs chairman, Thomas Fischer, emphasised WestLBÆs ambition to grow its business in Asia and expressed a wish to expand its presence in China and India. Given the groupÆs lack of experience in China it would prefer to be guided into China by a Hong Kong entity, he said.
