ECM values drop off this week as DCM volumes ramp up.

Asia (ex Japan) ECM volume stands at $545m via seven deals so far this week compared to the $4.2bn via 14 deals completed in the previous week.

Vietnamese Issuer Masan Group completed a $209m follow-on via Credit Suisse and Viet Capital Securities in what is the largest Asia (ex Japan) ECM transaction this week.

Asia (ex Japan) ECM volume stands at $180.8bn via 1,294 deals in 2018 YTD, up from $171.2bn via 1,588 deals in the same 2017 period and the fourth highest YTD volume on record. Chinese issuer accounts for 70.9% of the total market volume, followed by India (8.7%) and South Korea (7.3%).

Goldman Sachs leads Asia (ex Japan) ECM market with $15.0bn, followed by Citi with $11.9bn and Morgan Stanley with $11.2bn.

Debt Capital Markets

Asia (ex Japan) international DCM totaled $1.1bn via 3 deals this week, compared to $712m via 4 deals in the previous week.

The largest deal of the week goes to Asian Development Bank with $264m proceeds via ANZ, National Australia Bank, and TD Securities.

In Asia (ex Japan) International DCM, Formosa bond issuance has reached its all-time YTD volume on record this year with $4.9bn via 23 deals. Panda bond issuance also reached its all-time YTD on record this year with $2.5bn via 9 deals.

HSBC leads the Asia (ex Japan) international DCM league with $21.3bn. This is followed by Citi with $15.3bn and Standard Chartered Bank with $11.5bn.
