Aussie debt holdings reach critical mass

Poll shows nearly 40% of Asia-based bond investors now hold a significant share of their portfolios in Australian and New Zealand dollar debt securities.

Aussie debt holdings reach critical mass

A recent survey of Asia-based investors conducted by FinanceAsia and National Australia Bank NAB shows bond buyers now see Australia as an integral part of their long-term fixed-income portfolios.

The poll of institutional investors in the Asia time-zone asked respondents to provide information on allocation strategies and indicate whether they planned to increase or decrease their exposures. FinanceAsia conducted similar surveys in 2013 and 2014.
