Credit Suisse establishes Australian property research team

Andrew Rosivach internally transfers to lead Sydney-based team.
Credit Suisse has announced that it has established a new property equities team in Australia in response to growing investement interest in the sector. The new team will be based in Sydney .

Leading Credit SuisseÆs Australian property research will be Andrew Rosivach, who transfers internally from the firm's New York offices. Since joining Credit Suisse in 2004, Rosivach has led the real estate investment trust (REIT) equity research team for two years.

Prior to this role, he honed his property research skills as a senior REIT analyst at Piper Jaffray, a US-based securities firm and as an associate analyst at UBS.

In what is a newly created position Rosivach will lead a team that aims to provide comprehensive coverage of the Australian listed property trust (LPT) sector. The post will also include responsibility for the comparative analysis of the Australian and US real estate sector, given that approximately 30% of Australian LPT assets are based in America.

ôWe're finding investors in Australia, while extremely interested in local property trusts, also have an appetite for overseas markets such as the United States,ö says Rosivach. ôWe're bringing together Credit SuisseÆs US REIT expertise with strong local knowledge to give clients the global insight that they need.ö

Rosivach will receive assistance and local knowledge from David Burgess, who joins Credit SuisseÆs new research team from Colliers International. At the global property group, Burgess was the director of valuations for New South Wales, where he valued many properties directly owned by the LPTs in Australia.

At Colliers, he was also responsible for national retail and commercial CBD valuations in AustraliaÆs most populated state. Before taking this role, Burgess was director of valuations with its commercial and industrial valuation team, while also serving as a board member for Colliers International (WA).
