New legal eagle for Shearman & Sterling

The law firm has a new attorney responsible for project development and finance practice in Hong Kong.

International law firm Shearman & Sterling has appointed Jack H Su as special attorney in project development and finance practice for its Hong Kong branch.

Su has extensive legal experience in the fields of power, water, telecommunications, energy, and utilities. In his new position at Shearman, he will continue his work in these projects sectors in the Asian region.

Prior, Su has spent 10 years as senior vice-president and counsel for Vivendi Water Asia where he led the acquisitions and financing of water, wastewater, and power projects in Asia.

“He [Jack] has unique experience in representing the lenders side in the areas of water, wastewater and power and environmentally related facilities,” says Edward L Turner III, the managing partner of Shearman & Sterling in Asia and head of project development and finance practice. “The Shearman & Sterling Asian Project Development and Finance team consider that the potential for private sector participation in Asia is huge and Jack will continue to play a key role in the development of this crucial sector.”
