Deutsche Bank has named three new Chief Country Officers: Lito Camacho in the Philippines, Thomas Lange in Singapore and Nissanke Weerasinghe in Thailand.
Camacho is responsible for Deutsche's operations and is the bankÆs senior representative in the Philippines. When he joined the bank last year, he was appointed head of country coverage for investment banking in Asia (ex- Japan and Korea). Before joining the bank, Camacho was Head of South Asia Investment Banking at Bankers Trust Company, Singapore. Thomas R. Fischer, Member of Deutsche BankÆs Group Board of Managing Directors responsible for the Asia Pacific region, said, "LitoÆs experience as Country Head for Bankers Trust in the Philippines is invaluable and will add significant value for our local business."
In addition to the position of Chief Country Officer, Lange will also be General Manager of Deustche Bank AG, Singapore Branch. He was most recently with Rostock, Germany as a Director for Corporates & Institutions. Earlier, he was the Personal Assistant to one of Deutsche BankÆs board members.
Weerasinghe is responsible for the BankÆs operations and is the BankÆs senior representative with regulators in Thailand. He first joined the Bank in 1999 as Chief Country Officer in the Philippines. Prior to that, was with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as Deputy Division Chief, Asia Pacific Department, based in Washington.
Fischer said, "NissankeÆs experience, as well as his knowledge of the region, added significant value to our business in the Philippines. I am confident that our business in Thailand will strengthen under NissankeÆs leadership as our business in the Philippines did."
Weerasinghe is the replacement for Thomas Verlohr who was Chief Country Officer in Thailand for the last three years.
