Treasury appointments, June 8

A roundup of the latest CFO and treasurer moves from around the region.

China Railsmedia Corporation: The Hong Kong-based building construction company, formerly known as Wing Hong Holdings, appointed Sit Hon Wing as financial controller and company secretary on June 1. He replaced Li Chik Ming who resigned from both positions on the same day. Sit holds more than 10 years of accounting and auditing experience and is an associate member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

CSE Global: Current chief financial officer (CFO) of the Singapore-based systems integrator, Lim Boon Kheng, was promoted to managing director of CSE Global (Asia). He keeps his existing role and responsibilities.

Gul Technologies Singapore: Ong Ser Chin will become CFO of the circuit board manufacturer on June 16, replacing Lim Yew Boon who will resign the same day. Ong is currently vice-president of finance at the company's subsidiary Gultech (Suzhou) Electronics. His responsibilities will include accounting, internal control compliance, financial planning and reporting.

Netik: The global provider of financial data management and reporting services and products has appointed Ishan Manaktala as managing director and head of Asia as part of its expansion plans for the region. He reports to Rob Flatley, chief executive and president of Netik. Manaktala assumed responsibility of Netik India, which he is charged with transforming into an organisation that can service all aspects of the financial services information management value chain. He is based in Bangalore and responsible for managing the company's information service group in the country as well as building its operations in the Asia-Pacific region. Manaktala joins Netik from Deutsche Bank's equities unit in New York where he was global head of equity analytics. He holds a masters degree in finance from Bentley College, a dual masters of business administration degree from Columbia Business School and the London Business School.

Paul Y Engineering Group: Financial controller William Hon Wa Law will become CFO of the Hong Kong-based management contracting service provider on June 19. Law will replace current CFO Andy Lee Ming Cheung who will resign the same day.

Soho China: Sean Shaojian Wang resigned from his position as CFO and executive director of the Hong Kong-based real estate developer on May 31. Chief executive Marita Zhang and financial controller Tong Ching Mau will assume Wang's responsibilities while the company's searches for a replacement.

Straits Asia Resources: The Singapore-based mining company appointed Shaun Day CFO on June 1 as it aims to develop a leadership team that can operate independently in all aspects of technical and commercial matters across the group. Day replaced Graeme Bruce Tivey who was promoted to executive general manager the same day. During his time as CFO, Tivey implemented a SAP-based Standard Chartered Bank cash management solution that allowed it to better integrate its internal accounts and those held at the bank.

Suria Capital Holdings: The Malaysia-based investment holding company appointed Ng Kiat Min CFO on June 2. Ng was previously general manager of corporate services and finance at Sabah Ports, a wholly owned subsidiary of Suria Capital Holdings. She has a bachelors degree in accounting and finance and is a member of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants in the UK and a Chartered Accountant registered with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.

Westech Electronics: Siu Yeung Sau was appointed CFO of the disk drive manufacturer on June 2. He replaced Tan Chin Hock who resigned the same day. Siu has more than 10 years' experience in auditing and accounting. He is a certified public accountant with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore. In addition, he holds a masters degree in business administration from California State University and a bachelors degree in accountancy from Nanyang Technological University.
