FinanceAsia strives to use the most environmentally-friendly technologies as is economically possible to produce our magazine.

Therefore, we want to draw your attention to our change of paper for the magazine. Starting with our April issue, the magazine will be printed on Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified paper. FSC is an independent, non-government, not-for-profit organisation established to promote the responsible management of the world's forests.

Products carrying the FSC label are independently certified to assure consumers that they are made using wood from forests that are managed to meet the social, economic and ecological needs of present and future generations.

In addition, last year we changed the poly-wrap (the plastic cover) we put around our magazine when we mail them to our subscribers to a biodegradable product. We also reduced the thickness of the plastic, which reduced our plastic consumption by almost half.

Also, the lamination process we use to make the cover shiny is water based, which reduces the amount of harmful chemicals used in the production process.

Obviously, the web is our most eco-friendly product, but our magazines utilise up-to-date technologies to make them environmentally friendly. Like many of our readers, we recognise that being environmentally aware is not only the right thing to do, but it's good for business.

This June we will publish our second annual supplement on the environment. This year we will focus on carbon trading and we are keen to hear how corporations and banks in the region are taking part in this burgeoning international trade.
