The equity and debt capital markets have a subdued start to the second quarter.
Equity Capital Markets

The equity capital markets raised a total of $418 million from seven issues in the first week of the second quarter. Citi continues to hold on to the top spot in the league table rankings with $3.0 billion, followed by JPMorgan with $1.8 billion and Deutsche Bank with $1.7 billion.

Standard Chartered Bank ran the books for the weekÆs largest issue û CapitaCommercial TrustÆs $203 million convertible. JPMorgan led Noble GroupÆs $151 million fully marketed deal and moved up a notch in the rankings from third place last week.

Debt Capital Markets

The debt capital markets saw a single trade raise $25 million this week. HSBC remains the leader of the league table rankings on $1.4 billion, with Barclays Capital on $764 million and Lehman Brothers on $665 million rounding out the top three.

HSBC printed the $25 million trade for Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation.
