Jerry Zhang named managing director of the bank's M&A advisory business.
Responding to heightened demand for its M&A services in Asia, Deutsche Bank has appointed Jerry Zhang to a newly created role within its M&A division. Effectively immediately, Zhang becomes managing director of mergers & acquisitions advisory of global banking for Asia.

From DeutscheÆs Hong Kong offices, Zhang will be responsible for the origination and execution of M&A activities in Asia. His role will also include a strong focus on the China market.

Zhang will report directly to Douglas Morton, managing director and head of M&A for Asia.

ôWeÆre experiencing a significant increase in M&A activity in Asia driven by domestic consolidation and significant investment inflows from strategic and financial investors,ö says Morton. ôAt the same time, Asian corporations are increasingly buying into global companies to help realize their regional and global ambitions.ö

Zhang crosses to Deutsche from CITIC Capital Markets in Hong Kong where he was a managing director in the investment banking division.
