Standard Chartered appoints global head of client access

Gautam Jain joins Standard Chartered's transaction banking team from Barclays in London.

Standard Chartered has appointed Gautam Jain as its new global head of client access for transaction banking. Jain brings 17 years of experience in managing technology, business and audit functions to Standard Chartered, and joins from Barclays where he was head of information technology for global commercial products in London.

“We are focused on ensuring our entire channel and network management suite are driven by the needs of our clients and tailored to their requirements,” said Karen Fawcett, group head of transaction banking at Standard Chartered. “Gautam brings a wealth of experience that enhances our capacity to deliver best-in-class solutions for our clients' benefits.”

Based in Singapore, Jain reports to Fawcett and is responsible for driving Standard Chartered’s client access strategy. In addition, he will lead the bank’s channel management and network management teams. Jain will also work with Standard Chartered’s global head of service and solution delivery who is yet to be announced.

In addition, the bank  recently promoted Ashutosh Kumar to global head of corporate cash and trade product management at the beginning of July this year to replace Tan Kah Chye who joined Barclays Corporate at the end April.

Standard Chartered has 1,700 offices in 70 markets and employs 85,000 staff across Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
