SG adds new country officer for Singapore

Maurice Nhan becomes the firm's chief country officer for Singapore and Southeast Asia, replacing Eric Wormser who moves to the Gulf region.

Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking announced yesterday that Maurice Nhan will become chief country officer for Singapore and Southeast Asia. He succeeds Eric Wormser who moves on to the position of country head for Societe Generale group in the Gulf region.

Based in Singapore, Nhan will report to De Doan Tran, head of SG CIB for Asia-Pacific.

The bank says that Nhan will lead the Southeast Asia teams with a focus on key clients, including large local and multinational corporations as well as local financial institutions, and provide them with solutions for financing large-scale and cross-border investments, capital raising in euro capital markets, investment and risk hedging via derivatives.

Singapore is the firm's Southeast Asia hub from which the bank mostly specialises in structured finance and Asian currency trading. It is also home to the middle and back office operations for its regional fixed-income and currency business.
