Reflecting the growing importance of green bonds, FinanceAsia welcomed investors and issuers from across the region to a special conference in Hong Kong last month.

Investors and green bond issuers gathered in Hong Kong for FinanceAsia's inaugural Green Bonds Asia Pacific event on April 27.

The event, held at the Sheraton Hotel, featured a range of lively discussions on the growth of the green bond market, from the perspective of borrowers and issuers seeking to benefit from growing awareness of environmental, social and governance issues.

Among the speakers was David Pang of MTR Corporation, which issued its first green bond in October last year, as well as Orith Azoulay, head of SRI research at event sponsor Natixis.

Investors and issuers in Southeast Asia will have a chance to learn more about the opportunities green bonds present when FinanceAsia hosts its Green Bonds Southeast Asia forum in Singapore on May 25.
