Deutsche brings Joshi on board from Standard Chartered

Prashant Joshi joins Deutsche to manage the firm's private and business clients franchise in India.
Deutsche Bank India has poached Prashant Joshi from Standard Chartered to head private and business clients for the country.

Joshi will be based in Mumbai and will be be responsible for managing Deutsche BankÆs private and business clients franchise in India. He reports locally to Gunit Chadha, managing director and CEO, Deutsche Bank India, and regionally to Atul Malik, head of private and business clients for Deutsche Bank in Asia.

Joshi joins from Standard Chartered Bankwhere he was the general manager of small- and medium enterprises banking. Before he joined Standard Chartered Joshi was head of retail assets for IDBI Bank. He brings to Deutsche 15 years of corporate and retail banking experience following an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta.

Deustche Bank currently has 10 branches in nine Indian cities: Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Aurangabad, Kolhapur, Gurgaon and Noida. It will open three further branches in Pune, Vellore and Salem before the end of 2008.
