Deutsche Bank poaches Villard Zhou from JPMorgan

As managing director of the China business development team, Zhou will focus on growing the investment banking business on the Mainland.
Deutsche Bank has hired Villard Zhou as managing director to lead the China business development team within its global banking division. Zhou, who was most recently a managing director in JPMorganÆs China investment banking team, assumes the newly created position today.

Based in Hong Kong, Zhou will help the German bank grow its ChinaÆs investment banking business further and build up relationships with local clients. She will report to Charles Wang, managing director and head of China investment banking.

Zhou comes equipped with 10 years of investment banking experience in China. At JPMorgan she was responsible for managing investment banking deals for Chinese clients.

The investment banking industry in China has been very robust in recent years, given an unfading interest in this market by global investors and increasing financial activities undertaken by fast-growing domestic companies. The addition of this new position to Deutsche BankÆs investment banking team shows the bank is committing extra resources and efforts to fuel its continuous growth in China.
