Deutsche Bank hires for Asia M&A team

Youngbum Kwon will head Deutsche's M&A franchise in Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Deutsche Bank yesterday announced the appointment of Youngbum (YB) Kwon to its global banking team as a managing director in the mergers and acquisitions group for Asia-Pacific ex-Japan. He will be based in Hong Kong and will be responsible for the German bank's M&A franchise in Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Kwon has 14 years of experience in the industry, and has worked at UBS, where he was a managing director in the M&A team, as well as Credit Suisse, where he had a senior M&A role. He will report to Gordon Paterson, Deutsche Bank's head of Asia-Pacific M&A.

"This appointment further demonstrates Deutsche Bank's commitment to its clients in Asia. YB's depth of experience and strong client relationships are a great asset to our M&A franchise," says Paterson.

Kwon has a masters in industrial administration from Carnegie Mellon University and a degree in business administration from Yonsei University in Seoul.
