ABN augments commodity derivatives team

Dutch bank announces creation of Singapore business to be led by Brian Cumming.

ABN AMRO has outlined a global expansion of its commodity derivatives business, announcing new hires in London and New York and regionally, the creation of a new Singapore operation. Joining the Dutch institution in Singapore as senior marketer is Brian Cumming who will be responsibile for driving and establishing the commodity derivatives business in the Lion City.

He moves over to the new ABN venture from Sempra and brings over 15 years of related experience, including a stint as the head of the Calgary office of the global energy corporation.

According to Jan Sijbrand, ABN's global head of structured derivatives, "The establishment of the Singapore business and the expansion of our London and New York teams are indicative of ABN AMRO's commitment to providing clients with a truly global and expert service in over-the-counter commodity derivatives."

In London, Stewart Peter joins from Standard Bank with responsibility for trading oil fuel, while Dana Kovaric crosses from the same institution as a junior marketer. Across the Atlantic in New York, Ranjeet Bhatia makes the move from BNP Paribas and will trade crude oil for ABN.
