BoA Japan hires Fujii

Joins from Nikko Citigroup to take a senior currency role.

Tomoko Fujii is to relocate to Bank of America's Tokyo offices to take up the post of principal and senior currency strategist in the firm's global foreign exchange (GFX) business. In the new role, she will report to Robert Sinche, global head of foreign exchange strategy and to Ryuichi Atsuta, BoA's head of foreign exchange in Japan.

Fujii will contribute to the GFX strategy group's formation of currency views and strategies, which includes analysis and projections of the Japanese economy, policies, interest rates and capital flows. Most recently, she was employed by Nikko Citigroup (formally Salomon Brothers Asia Limited) as its senior economist covering Japan and was a member of Citigroup's global currency strategy group.

During her 15 years with the firm Fujii also held a number of currency strategy and economic roles. She began her career with Japanese broker, New Japan Securities covering yen bond analysis.
