Issuance in the equity capital markets continued at a trickle this week with $46 million raised from six issues. The top 10 ranking remains unchanged with Citi leading the field by a wide margin on $5.1 billion, ahead of UBS on $3.8 billion and Credit Suisse with $3.7 billion.
Year-to-date volume now stands at $58.0 billion from 708 issues û a decline of 67% from the $173.9 billion raised in the comparable period last year.
Deals scheduled to price next week include a $181 million convertible for MalaysiaÆs Lion Diversified Holdings, via bookrunner AmInvestment Bank.
Debt Capital Markets
The debt capital markets remained silent with zero trades this week. Year-to-date volume is down 56% to $16.7 billion from 57 trades, compared to the $38.0 billion worth of deals priced in the same period last year.
HSBC, Deutsche Bank and Citi take out the top three places in the league table, sitting on $2.6 billion, $2.2 billion and $1.6 billion respectively.
