Deutsche Bank makes global transaction banking appointments

Deutsche Bank bolsters its global transactions banking team in Asia.

Deutsche Bank has made several key appointments in its global transactions banking business in Asia.

“We are confident that Asia will be a key growth region for the transaction banking business,” said Roger Packham, Deutsche Bank’s acting Asia-Pacific regional head of trade finance and cash management corporates, in a statement. “These appointments serve to strengthen the Bank’s aspirations in being a leading transaction bank in Asia.”

Nicole Wong was appointed as the regional head of financial supply chain in Asia and will be based in Singapore. She brings more than 20 years of experience into her new role which will see her work together with local financial supply chain experts and product management and implementation teams. Wong will report directly to Packham.

Heading up trade finance and cash management corporates for North China will be Belinda Han, who will be based in Beijing. She joined Deutsche Bank from HSBC China’s global banking division. Han has more than ten years of commercial banking experience and will be responsible for driving Deutsche Bank’s trade finance and cash management corporates business growth in North China. She will report directly to Deutsche Bank’s China head of global transaction banking and corporate banking coverage, David Koh.

Deutsche Bank also added to its global transactions banking team in Vietnam with appointment of Le Nhat Phuong Hong as head of trade finance and cash management corporates, based in Ho Chi Minh City. She will be focused on enhancing and implementing Deutsche Bank’s growth plans in Vietnam and responsible for introducing new products and expanding the target market. She will continue to report to Mahesh Kini, Asia-Pacific regional head of cash management corporates and additionally she will report locally to Tri Pham, Deutsche Bank’s Vietnam chief country officer and regionally to Packham.

Deutsche Bank recently expanded its structured products team by poaching Evert-Jan Zondag and Edward Hui from RBS and Paul Gardner as managing director and Asia-Pacific regional head of structured trade and export finance, also from RBS.
