Deutsche appoints GTB head in Sri Lanka

Hemaka Perera becomes head of global transaction banking in Sri Lanka, while Stefan Mahrdt moves to Vietnam.
Deutsche Bank has appointed Hemaka Perera as head of global transaction banking (GTB) in Sri Lanka.

Perera, whose appointment takes effect immediately, will be responsible for leading product innovation and growing the bankÆs transaction banking corporate platform in Sri Lanka.

The position was held previously by Stefan Mahrdt who has been relocated to Vietnam to head Deutsche Bank's global transaction banking and corporate banking coverage there.

Perera reports locally to Deutsche BankÆs chief country officer in Sri Lanka, Rohan Rodrigo, and regionally to Thomas DuCharme, head of global transaction banking at Deutsche Bank Asia.

Perera has 16 years of professional banking experience at leading financial institutions, including Standard Chartered Bank and Citigroup. Prior to this role, Perera was senior relationship manager, GTB, Deutsche Bank, where he managed a portfolio of multinationals and large local public- and private-sector corporate clients.
