Paul Hastings expands practice with three partners

The finance partners join the Tokyo and Hong Kong offices from rival firms.
International law firm Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP has added three finance partners in Asia as it aims to increase its coverage in the region.

Joseph Kim and David Vance have joined the firmÆs Tokyo office from Latham & Watkins and Baker & McKenzie respectively, while Patricia Tan Openshaw, who was previously with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, has joined the firmÆs Hong Kong office.

Kim focuses on leveraged finance, project development and project finance throughout Asia. He has represented commercial banks, sponsors and export credit agencies as well as a number of private equity investors, and private and publicly held companies in various transactions.

Vance specialises in infrastructure project finance and development within the power, petrochemicals, oil and gas and telecommunications industries and also has a background in cross-border acquisition finance. He has represented several multinational finance institutions and developers in Asia on a number of multi-billion dollar transactions.

Openshaw concentrates on a range of corporate and project transactions involving energy and infrastructure assets, as well as on financings involving commercial banks, export credit agencies, multilateral agencies and private equity funds. Her experience in Asia and Australia includes working with multinational companies on restructuring, refinancing, private equity investments, divestitures, privatisations and cross-border acquisitions.
