Stephen Metcalfe resigns from Nomura

Metcalfe, who was co-head of equity capital markets at Nomura, leaves to pursue other opportunities.
After almost three year's in the role, Nomura's co-head of Asian equity capital markets, Stephen Metcalfe, has resigned from the Japanese firm.

Metcalfe, who was co-head with Kusano Tokihiko, has left the firm to pursue other opportunities - although it is not yet clear what these are.

The British banker joined Nomura from Credit Suisse, where he was head of Southeast Asian ECM. At Nomura he helped raise the firm's profile in the Asian equity markets. For example, under his stewardship, Nomura was a global coordinator on Lotte Shopping's IPO (the largest international deal Nomura had done outside Japan) and also became active on equity offerings out of India for Infosys and ICICI Bank.

Metcalfe has worked in Asian investment banking for 13 years, having spent five of those with Credit Suisse, and prior to that with other firms such as UBS.
