Deutsche hires new boss for SE Asia from HSBC

Sandeep Pahwa will lead the German bank's global banking team in Southeast Asia later this summer.
Deutsche Bank has appointed Sandeep Pahwa as managing director and head of global banking for Southeast Asia. Pahwa was most recently with HSBC in London, where he was managing director and global head of media and entertainment investment banking and corporate banking.

In his newly created position at Deutsche, Pahwa will oversee the bankÆs equity-linked business as well as mergers and acquisitions. Joining the German bank later this summer, he will be based in Singapore and report to Lee Zhang, the bankÆs head of global banking in Asia-Pacific ex-Japan.

"Sandeep will bring significant international experience and perspective to the role of managing of our Southeast Asian client base and its expansion," says Zhang.

With a concentration on global cross-border transactions, Pahwa has vast investment banking experience across the product lines of M&A, debt and equity capital markets. Before he joined HSBC, he worked for JPMorgan in New York as director in the media and telecoms investment banking team.

Deutsche's global banking division comprises corporate finance and global transaction banking activities, which provide an integrated suite of products and services including advisory, debt finance, global trade finance, trust and securities services as well as global cash management, to name but a few.
