Lehman ECM hires Wong from BOCI

The investment bank names a new managing director for its regional ECM team.
Lehman Brothers has brought Eric Wong to the firm a newly created role of managing director, equity capital markets, Asia ex-Japan. He will be based in Hong Kong.

In this new role, which is part of LehmanÆs regional expansion, Wong will focus most of his energy on the Greater China markets. WongÆs new position takes effect immediately and he will report to David Douglas, LehmanÆs head of equity capital markets, Asia ex-Japan.

To Lehman Brothers, Wong brings two decades of experience in capital markets and corporate finance, the last 13 of which were spent at BOCI Asia. For this firm, he was most recently head of global capital markets where he played a key role in deal origination and execution of initial public offerings, secondary share placements and advisory services to governmental entities and commercial enterprises in China and Hong Kong.

Prior to his BOCI tenure, Wong also worked at Bank of Nova Scotia, CCIC Finance and Bank of America in corporate banking.

WongÆs arrival is the latest hire at Lehman designed to bolster its Asia global finance team. In recent times, the firm appointed Hiroshi Wakutsu as head of global finance, Japan; Terence Lim as head of global finance solutions, Asia; and Juhi Prasad as head of leveraged finance, Asia.
