Paul Hastings grows Japan litigation practice

Fuyuno and Fox join as partners in Tokyo.
International law firm Paul Hastings has announced the appointment of two partners in its Tokyo litigation practice. Joy Fuyuno and Maxwell A. Fox join the firm with immediate effect in what Paul Hastings calls a response to demand for intellectual property and antitrust issues.

New partner FuyunoÆs practice focuses on commercial litigation and general corporate counselling, with a focus on antitrust counselling and litigation. She crosses over to Paul Hastings from Bingham McCutchen in San Francisco where she worked on multi-jurisdictional price-fixing cases and other antitrust class actions. Her experience with this firm also includes governmental investigations and filings in connection with mergers and acquisitions.

Fuyuno is currently vice-chair of the International Committee of the Antitrust Section of the American Bar Association and is fluent in Japanese, English and French.

Fox, meanwhile, will focus on intellectual property litigation, licensing and counseling matters. Throughout his legal career, he has successfully represented some of the worldÆs leading manufacturers and distributors of electronic hardware in separate large-scale patent disputes against major competitors. FoxÆs experience extends to patent infringement, copyright, and trade secret matters involving a diverse array of technologies.

He relocates from Paul HastingsÆ Los Angeles office and is fluent in Japanese.
