Citic CLSA names fixed-income syndicate head

Andy Siow joins Citic CLSA from ANZ, leading the Asia debt syndicate desk for the Chinese broker.

Citic CLSA Securities has hired Andy Siow from ANZ as its head of fixed income syndicate, a newly created position, according to an internal memo seen by FinanceAsia.

Siow joined the company's fixed income, currencies and commodities (FICC) team as an executive director, effective last Friday.

"Andy is responsible for leading the execution of the fixed income syndicated deals with the help of FICC sales and trading," John Sun, global head of FICC & equity derivatives, wrote in the memo. "He will also be collaborating with debt capital markets on the origination of primary bond issuances."

Based in Hong Kong, he reports to Sun and Leo Tong, global head of sales for FICC.

Siow was a director with ANZ's Asia debt syndicate for about a year, according his LinkedIn profile. Prior to that he spent about 10 year with Citi's Asia debt syndicate, holding the title of vice-president.

A Hong Kong-based spokewoman for Citic CLSA confirmed his appointment.
