Fourth Malaysian IPO priced this week

Asia (ex Japan) issuers have raised a total of $3.1 billion through 27 deals this week, compared to the $8.4 billion raised last week via 30 deals.

The largest deal of the week is Malaysia’s Eco World International’s IPO for $584 million via bookrunners CIMB Group, Maybank, UOB-Kay Hian Holdings, and Hong Leong Financial Group.

Eco World International is the fourth Malaysian IPO to be priced this year. IPO volume in Asia (ex Japan) has reached $10.9 billion in 2017 YTD, up 61% from the $6.8 billion in the same period last year.

China International Capital Corp leads the ECM league table with $5.2 billion in 2017 YTD. CITIC Securities and Goldman Sachs follow with $5.0 billion and $3.6 billion, respectively.

Debt Capital Markets

12 Asian (ex Japan) issuers have tapped the G3 debt capital markets this week for a total of $8.8 billion, up 36% from the $6.4 billion issued last week via 10 deals.

The largest deal of the week is a $3.0 billion USD-denominated sovereign bond by Perusahaan Penerbit SBSN Indonesia III, a finance vehicle owned by the Republic of Indonesia, via bookrunners Standard Chartered Bank, Deutsche Bank, HSBC, National Bank of Abu Dhabi PJSC, and Mandiris Sekuritas.

This is followed by the issuance of USD-denominated preferred shares by China Zheshang Bank for $2.2 billion via a consortium of 16 bookrunners.

HSBC leads the G3 DCM league table in 2017 YTD with $7.8 billion, followed by JPMorgan and Citi with $5.8 billion and $5.5 billion.
