G3 Debt Capital Markets start strong in the first week of March

Asia (ex Japan) issuers have raised a total of $2.7 billion through 23 deals this week, down 17% from the $3.2 billion raised last week via 41 deals.

The largest deal of the week is Chinese A-share private placement by Technology company, Zhejiang Chint Electrics via bookrunner Guotai Junan Securities for $635 million.

Technology leads the Asia ECM volume so far this year with $1.9 billion. This is followed by Real Estate and Professional Services with $1.6 billion and $445 million.

China International Capital Corp leads the ECM league table with $4.0 billion in 2017 YTD. CITIC Securities and Goldman Sachs follow with $3.4 billion and $2.8 billion, respectively.

14 Asian (ex Japan) issuers have tapped the G3 debt capital markets this week for a total of $9.7 billion, a 52% surge in volume compared to $6.4 billion issued last week via 9 deals.

The largest deal of the week is a $3.0 billion USD-denominated corporate investment grade bond issued by China Cinda Finance (2017) I, a finance vehicle of China Cinda Asset Management, through a consortium of 21 bookrunners.

Asia (ex Japan) G3 volume in 2017 YTD is still at YTD record high, totaling to $64.6 billion via 92 deals and more than double the $29.1 billion issued via 52 deals in the same period last year. USD-denominated debt accounts for 92% of volume with $59.5 billion.

HSBC leads the G3 DCM league table in 2017 YTD with $5.8 billion, followed by JPMorgan and Citi with $4.7 billion and $4.4 billion.
