Bank of Shanghai priced the largest A-share IPO in 2016 YTD

Asia (ex Japan) issuers have raised $7.6 billion through 31 deals so far this week, compared with $931 million raised in the same period last week.

The largest deal of the week is Bank of Shanghai’s $1.6 billion IPO on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, through joint bookrunners Guotai Junan Securities and Shenwan Hongyuan Group. This is the largest A-share new listing since June 2015, when Guotai Junan Securities completed its $4.9 billion IPO in Shanghai.

Chinese A-share new listing volume totals $15.2 billion so far this year via 145 deals, down on $24.0bn (192 deals) from the same 2015 period.

CITIC Securities leads the ECM league table ranking with $14.4 billion in 2016 YTD. Morgan Stanley and GF Securities complete the top three ranking with $11.27 billion and $11.26 billion, respectively.

Debt Capital Markets

10 Asian issuers have tapped the G3 debt capital markets for a total of $6.8 billion, down from $2.2 billion raised from four deals in the same period last week.

The largest deal of the week is a $2.5 billion USD-denominated bond by Export-Import Bank of Korea, through bookrunners Mizuho, UBS, Morgan Stanley, ANZ, SG Corporate & Investment Banking, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, and Credit Agricole CIB.

HSBC leads the G3 bond league table in Asia (ex Japan) with $18.5 billion in 2016 YTD. Citi and Bank of America Merrill Lynch follow with $14.0 billion and $13.0 billion, respectively.
