Corks fly for India's UB as it buys French wine brand

Top Indian brewer wins bid for France's Bouvet-Labuday, a subsidiary of Taittinger.

IndiaƆs United Breweries Group UB, owned by Vijay Mallya, has announced that it is acquiring Bouvet-Ladubay for $15 million. Bouvet-Ladubay, a brand of wine, was a subsidiary of French champagne group Taittinger. It is based in the Loire Valley and has 150 year history.
