Equity Capital Markets raise $628 million while the debt capital markets grind to a halt

The week in the equity capital markets saw volume drop back to $628 million from nine issues as the year draws to a close. Morgan Stanley remains uncontested at the top of the league table rankings with $10.1 billion from 39 deals, well ahead of UBS in second place and Goldman Sachs in third.



SK Telecom's $194.7 million accelerated bookbuild was the largest issue of the week. Morgan Stanley ran the books.



As the market heads into the final week of the year, only $29.7 million separates second place and third, while Merrill Lynch trails Goldman Sachs by $217.2 million in fourth position.


Debt Capital Markets




The debt capital markets ground to a halt this week with zero trades and total volume for the year standing at almost $44 billion from 122 deals. Citigroup heads the league table rankings with $5.7 billion from 26 facilities while Deutsche Bank and JP Morgan round out the top three.
