Merrill picks Dewberry

US investment bank gains a new head of Asia ex-Japan transportation research.

Merrill Lynch has appointed Paul Dewberry to bolster its transportation research capabilities. He comes to Merrill as its new director and head of Asia (ex-Japan) head of transportation research and will report to Chris Francis, head of South Asian equity research.

Dewberry will head the investment bank's regional transportation team, while also providing coverage for airlines sector. He shifts to Merrill from the Hong Kong offices of Macquarie Securities, where he was head of Asian airlines research.

Before the Macquarie position, Dewberry worked in equity research at Salomon Smith Barney in London where he covered European airlines and airports. Prior to working in investment banking, Dewberry was employed in the audit division of PricewaterhouseCoopers in London, where he focused on aviation amongst other industries.
