Tibco Software appoints managing directors for Japan, South Asia

PALO ALTO, Calif., June 12 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ -- TIBCO Software Inc.  (Nasdaq: TIBX), a leading provider of real-time infrastructure software for e-business, continued its global expansion by announcing today the appointment of Michio Segawa as managing director of its Japan operations and Eric Lim as managing director of the South Asia Region, which includes Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, The Philippines, Singapore and India.

Both Segawa and Lim's responsibilities include developing and implementing strategies and infrastructure to grow TIBCO's customer and revenue share within the region, and rapidly building a strong network of industry partnerships and alliances in support of the marketplace.  Both Segawa and Lim will report directly to Gene Kuo, vice president and managing director of TIBCO Asia Pacific.

Michio Segawa, Managing Director, Japan Formerly with SAP, Compaq, and IBM, Segawa has 28 years of engineering, operations, sales and marketing experience in Japan.  Prior to joining TIBCO, Segawa served as vice president of the manufacturing sector at SAP Japan, where he managed sales and marketing.  While at SAP, he also served as vice president of solutions, marketing and alliances.  Segawa holds a master's degree in Computer Science from Stanford University.

Eric Lim, Managing Director, South Asia Lim brings more than 15 years experience in the information technology industry.  For the last eight years prior to joining TIBCO, Lim was responsible for the South Asia professional services practice of Lotus Development at IBM.  Before IBM, he held various management positions throughout Asia with companies such as National Computer Systems and Asian Sources Media Group.  Lim holds a master's degree in Computer Studies from the University of Essex, England.
