Citi announced yesterday that it appointed Andrea Fletcher as global equities client management head.
The bank said that in this newly created role Fletcher will work closely with the heads of equities and equity sales in regions to ensure Citi is delivering its equities platform to clients around the world.
Fletcher is currently Hong Kong-based head of client management for equities for Asia-Pacific and will continue in this role. She will report to David Covin, global head of investor sales client strategy and business development, and David Ratliff, who is head of investor sales for Asia-Pacific.
“Andrea has played a leading role in the growth of the equities business in Asia for Citi,” said Ratliff. "The basing of this role in Asia-Pacific also underlines the importance of this region to Citi globally."
Asia-Pacific is an increasingly important region for Citi, generating $1.4 billion in net income or close to 40% of global profit during the third quarter of 2011. During the course of 2011, Citi has helped lead close to $15 billion of equities offerings in the region, including 11 IPOs, according to data provider Dealogic.
