Goldman Sachs and HSBC continue to lead the equity and debt capital markets league tables for Asia ex-Japan.

Equity capital markets
There was a total of $1 billion of activity in Asia’s equity capital markets this week, involving 11 issuers. Year-to-date issuance totals $127.1 billion, down 23% from the $166.1 billion raised during the same period last year.

Goldman Sachs remains at the top of the league table ranking with $11.4 billion, followed by Morgan Stanley and UBS.

Belle International’s $471 million follow-on offering was the week’s biggest issue and was led by Credit Suisse and Morgan Stanley.

Debt capital markets
Borrowers in Asia’s debt capital markets raised a total of $1 billion from two trades this week, the first time in four weeks that there has been more than one issue priced during a single week.

 

The top three banks in the league table ranking remain unchanged, with HSBC leading with $8.6 billion, followed by Citi and Deutsche Bank.

Export-Import Bank of Korea’s $995 million trade was the week’s biggest issue, and was led by Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan, Credit Suisse, Daiwa Capital Markets and HSBC.
