Former RBS banker Richard Dawson joins KPMG

Former RBS banker Richard Dawson has joined KPMG as its new head of debt advisory based in Hong Kong.

Former Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) banker Richard Dawson has joined KPMG as its new head of debt advisory. Based in Hong Kong, he is charged with building a team to grow KPMG’s debt advisory business in China, Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific region.

Dawson was previously head of corporate and structured debt capital markets for RBS in Asia. Prior to that, he was the global head of syndicated loans at ABN AMRO.

“Many borrowers and issuers are seeking objective financing advice, independent of the sources of finance and across the debt products. I strongly believe that KPMG is in a unique position to provide this strategic advice, and I am excited to have the opportunity to build the business in Asia,” said Dawson in a release.

"With Richard's arrival and formal establishment of this practice, Asia will join KPMG's global network of successful debt advisory practices spanning the Americas, Europe and Australia," said Honson To, head of transactions and restructuring, KPMG China.
