BNP Paribas has appointed Thierry Josz as its new head of global trade solutions (GTS), effective immediately. Based in Brussels and managing a 300-strong GTS franchise, Josz replaces Jean-Paul Riolacci who has been appointed head of capital and credit management for global transaction banking. Josz and Riolacci will both report to Pierre Veyres, head of global transaction banking.
Josz will also head up the bank’s GTS competence centre.
The move is part of BNP Paribas’ expansion of its transaction banking business. Specifically, Josz will be responsible for the GTB capital allocation and credit portfolio. He will also manage the validation of new products from a credit standpoint and represent GTB in internal head-office credit committees. Overall, he will ensure quality of underwriting across regions and geographies and help develop group strategy.
