Treasury appointments, April 20

A roundup of the latest CFO and treasurer moves from around the region.

BNY Mellon: Magnus Wilson-Webb and Jim Brooks have been appointed business development managers as part of the expansion of the bank's corporate trust team in Australia. Based in Sydney, Wilson-Webb and Brooks will report to John-Paul Marotta, head of Asia-Pacific corporate trust sales, and John McGee, managing director of corporate trust for Australia. Wilson-Webb was previously head of relationship management for corporate trust in Australia at the bank. Brooks joined BNY Mellon from AMP Financial Services.

Celent: The Boston-based financial consultancy Celent has hired Arkadev Basak and Muralidhar Dasar as analysts in its Bangalore office. Basak joins from ANZ Bank's technology division and holds a bachelors degree from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management. Dasar was previously working in fixed income trading at HSBC and holds a bachelors degree from the Indian Institute of Technology and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management.

China Dongxiang: The Chinese sportswear brand announced that chief financial officer and company secretary Wong Chi Keung will resign effective April 24. Assistant company secretary Wai Pui Man will assume Wong's secretarial duties while the company searches for a replacement.

Hup Soon Global: The regional marketer and distributor of industrial equipment and automotive supplies has appointed Jennie Chok Hane Hong as CFO on April 12. She replaced Melissa May Wah Wan who resigned on February 26. Hong is responsible for the company's finance function, including financial reporting and analysis, finance and tax planning, corporate finance work, investor relations and enterprise risk management.

Jinshan Gold Mines: The Canada-based mining company whose primary operations are in China has appointed George Law as CFO. Law joins the company with more than 14 years of experience in the field of auditing and has assisted numerous Chinese enterprises in public company reporting. He holds a bachelors degree in accountancy and is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Mapletree Logistics Trust: The Asia-focused logistics real estate investment trust has promoted Wong Mei Lian to CFO following the promotion of former CFO Richard Lai to chief executive. Wong was previously senior vice-president of treasury at Mapletree Investments, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mapletree Logistics Trust. She has more than 15 years of experience in diverse areas including investment banking, corporate finance, treasury and real estate financial products, and will be responsible for the financial and strategic investment functions of Mapletree Logistics Trust and its subsidiaries. Additionally, Wong holds a bachelors degree from the National University of Singapore.
