Chua will start work on July 28 and report to Adrian Faure, Citi's head of investment research for Asia-Pacific. He will continue to be based in Singapore.

Chua replaces Lim Jit Soon who left Citi in May to join Lehman Brothers.
This is Chua's second stint at Citi, having previously worked at the bank as Asia economist. He started his career with Malaysia's RHB Banking Group in 1994 as an economist. Since then he has worked as a division head at the Monetary Authority of Singapore and with DBS Bank as senior regional economist before joining Citi and then Deutsche Bank. He completed both his masters degree in economics and his PhD at Harvard University.
