SocGen private banking strengthens India team

Societe Generale becomes the latest player to enhance its focus on private banking in India, hiring Nipun Mehta from local firm Unitis to head the business.

Societe Generale has appointed Nipun Mehta to head private banking for the French bank in India.

Mehta will be an executive director at SG private banking, based in Mumbai, and will report to Singapore-based Balakrishnan Kunnambath, managing director and global market manager for the Indian sub-continent. Kunnambath was overseeing SG private banking in India in addition to his regional role and, with effect from June 16, Mehta will head the business for India.
