The equity capital markets saw $1.5 billion raised from 13 issues this week, bringing year-to-date volume to $38.8 billion from 319 deals û down 32% from the $57.0 billion raised in the same period last year from 644 issues. Citi holds on to the top spot in the rankings with $4.4 billion from 15 deals, followed by UBS and Credit Suisse with $3.2 billion and $3.0 billion, respectively.
Citi ran the books on the two largest deals of the week û Fair VantageÆs $600 million convertible issued on behalf of Champion Real Estate Investment Trust and a $380 million accelerated bookbuild for Champion itself.
Deals scheduled to price next week include Chongqing Machinery & Electronics Holding (Group)Æs $193 million IPO via Credit Suisse; and a $144 million IPO for Wah Kwong Maritime Transport Holdings, led by Anglo Chinese Securities and Cazenove.
