HSBC launches clearing services in India
The bank will offer clearing services for securities lending and borrowing as investors are given the green light by Indian regulators to short sell their transactions.
HSBC has launched clearing services for institutional investors in India that participate in securities lending and borrowing transactions. This ties in with the Indian regulatorÆs decision to allow investors to short sell from April 21.
The Securities and Exchange Board of India SEBI, the Indian securities market regulator, has now permitted short selling of securities by institutional investors and the simultaneous introduction of short selling transactions in India.
