ABN draws in Dredge

A new head to lead local rates market and credit and foreign exchange business.

ABN AMRO has announced the appointment of David Dredge as regional head of local markets trading and head of global markets Singapore, where he will be based. He will assume responsibility for ABN's local rate markets, credit and foreign exchange businesses, as well as strengtening the bank's trading and risk management capabilities in these areas.

He will report to Greg Major, head of global markets for Asia and David Wong, chief executive for ABN AMRO in Singapore. Dredge was most recently with Bankers Trust, prior to which he spent five years with Bank of America.

Major comments, "This new role will ensure our clients benefit from cross-product synergy and with David's experience in Asian financial markets and multi-product risk management, he will greatly enhance the bank's capabilities in local markets in Asia."
