SG makes two research appointments

Pranay Gupta has been appointed as Chief Strategist, Asia (ex-Japan), and Guo Jingping is named Senior Economist, China.

Gupta and Jingping will report to Manu Bhaskaran, group director at SG in Singapore.

Gupta has almost a decade of experience in Asian and global equity strategy. Based in Hong Kong, he will be responsible for SG’s regional market strategy.

Prior to joining SG, Gupta worked at Chase Fleming Asset Management as portfolio manager and head of International Quantitative Research. Prior, he managed Asian equity strategy for NatWest in Singapore.

Jingping, who will be based in Beijing, focuses mainly on macro-economic research covering mainland China. She was previously at Morgan Stanley’s joint venture in China, China International Capital Corporate Ltd (CICC).

In her last position, Jingping was general manager and chief strategist for Shanghai Electronic and automation Equipment Holding Corporation.
