Citi poaches new head of GTS in the Philippines

Citi hires Mylene A Caparas from Deutsche Bank to lead global transaction services in the Philippines.

Citi has hired Mylene A Caparas as head of global transaction services (GTS) in the Philippines, effective March 21, where she will be responsible for leading Citi’s GTS franchise. Citi declined to comment on the matter.

Caparas has 25 years of banking experience including roles in global transaction services, corporate and commercial banking, coverage and credit. Most recently she was head of corporate banking coverage and global transaction banking for Deutsche Bank’s Manila branch. Prior to her role at Deutsche Bank, she held various positions with Credit Lyonnais-Manila, Citytrust Banking Corporation, a former Citi affiliate, and Union Bank of the Philippines.

Caparas’ appointment follows Citi’s addition of Vanessa Wang to head its pension services in Asia-Pacific for GTS, where she is to expand the bank’s business in the pensions and endowments sectors across the region. Wang will work closely with the bank’s product partners and consumer bank, global banking and global markets businesses to identify new business opportunities and to develop pension fund solutions.

Wang was previously a partner at Mercer and also Asia head of the consulting firm’s retirement, risk and finance (RFF) business. In her 11 years at the firm’s New York office she was responsible for shaping and expanding the RRF business in Asia.
