Joseph Chang joins Citi as head of Asia equities trading

Citi names Joseph Chang as head of Asia equities trading, excluding Australia and Japan.

Citi Global Markets has appointed Joseph Chang as head of Asian equities trading excluding Australia and Japan. Chang will be responsible for the strategic direction and management of Citi's cash equities and derivatives trading business across 16 markets in Asia.

He will be based in Hong Kong and will report to Adrian Faure, head of equities for Asia. 

Chang was most recently HSBC's co-head of Asian equities and, prior to HSBC, spent nine years at Merrill Lynch (from 1997 to 2006) with his last position as head of derivatives trading at Merrill Lynch Asia-Pacific. He commenced his career at Sanwa Financial Products in New York in 1995 after completing his MBA at Rutgers University.

"Joseph has tremendous experience and a deep knowledge of the Asian equities market which will benefit our clients. He will build on a stronger trading capability by leveraging the highly ranked research and equities platform at Cit and we look forward to him leading the team as we continue to serve and support our clients across the region," said Adrian Faure, head of Asia equities for Citi.

The appointment is effective immediately.
