UBS appoints new vice-chairman of IB team

UBS names Timothy Chia from Hup Soon Global Corporation as vice-chairman of its investment bank in Asia, replacing Robin Tomlin.

UBS has appointed Timothy Chia as vice-chairman of UBS Investment Bank in Asia, according to an announcement made yesterday. Chia will take over from Robin Tomlin, who has held the position for eight years. Tomlin will continue as a senior advisor to the firm.

UBS says that Chia's primary focus will be overseeing client relationships, major transactions and important strategic initiatives in Asia.
