Dealogic League Table Round-up August 10

Activity in both ECM and DCM markets continues to slow to a crawl as the summer lull proceeds.

Equity Capital Markets

Asia (ex Japan) issuers have raised a total of $400m through 10 deals this week, compared to the $14.8bn via 28 deals in the previous week.

The largest deal of the week was a follow-on by Yibin Tianyuan Group for $101m via China Hongxin Securities.

Asia (ex Japan) chemicals ECM volume reached its second highest level on record with $6.4bn via 57 deals in 2018 YTD versus the record high of $6.5bn in 2016 YTD (via 51 deals).

Goldman Sachs continues to lead ECM league table with $13.6bn followed by Citi with $10.7bn and Morgan Stanley with $10.0bn.

Debt Capital Markets

Asia (ex Japan) international DCM totaled $1.6bn via 6 deals this week, down 63% from the week before with $4.4bn via 13 deals.           

The largest deal of the week goes to Shinhan Financial Group with $500m proceeds via Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse, HSBC, JP Morgan, Mizuho, and Shinhan Investment.

Euro-denominated bond reached all time high YTD volume this year with $16.8bn via 35 deals compared to second largest YTD volume in 2017 with $14.6bn via 26 deals. Of the total Euro-denominated bonds, Chinese companies issued the most with $7.4bn via 16 deals followed by Singaporean companies with $2.6bn via 5 deals.

HSBC continues to lead the international DCM league with $18.0bn. This is followed by Citi with $12.2bn and Standard Chartered Bank with $10.3bn.
