Asia (ex Japan) issuers have raised $5.7 billion through 31 deals this week, compared with $9.7 billion raised in the same period last week.
The largest deal of the week is China’s Phoenix Publishing & Media Group’s $740 million equity offering through bookrunners Huatai Securities, China International Capital Corp, and CITIC Securities.
Chinese Publishing firms have raised $2.3 billion so far this year in the equity capital markets, a big jump from the $264 million raised in the same period last year.
CITIC Securities leads the ECM league table ranking with $16.1 billion in 2016 YTD. Morgan Stanley and GF Securities complete the top three with $13.7 billion and $11.4 billion, respectively.

Debt Capital Markets
Eight Asian issuers have tapped the G3 debt capital markets for a total of $2.8 billion, compared with $6.7 billion raised via 15 deals in the same period last week.
The largest deal of the week is an $888 million USD-denominated bond by Huishang Bank Corp through bookrunners Haitong Securities, UBS, Deutsche Bank, HSBC, China Construction Bank Corp – CCB, Agricultural Bank of China, China Everbright Bank, CITIC Securities, China Merchants Bank, Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, China Merchants Securities, Bank of China, Credit Suisse, Essence Securities, and Guoyuan Securities.
HSBC leads the G3 bond league table in Asia (ex Japan) with $20.2 billion in 2016 YTD. Citi and Bank of America Merrill Lynch follow with $15.1 billion and $13.7 billion, respectively.
